November - December 2010
Without a doubt, the greatest thing to happen here in Masaka, Uganda in these two months was
our annual Missions Conference. This year we had Josue Satunero preach our conference. He
is a missionary in Lira, Uganda sent out of independent Baptist churches in the Philippines. He
did a wonderful job in challenging our people. The theme for the conference was, “Yes, We
Can.” With God, YES, WE CAN win more souls, increase our giving, start new churches, and
send foreign missionaries. We ended the conference with our commitment service where our
people committed to give approximately $2,200 to missions in 2011. What a blessing! Masaka
Independent Baptist Church is now supporting eight missionaries!!
In November we saw the third term of Masaka Baptist College come to a conclusion. All
thirteen students passed and will advance to the 2011 year. January 31 we will be having a
graduation service for Ojera Peter who has finished his requirements and will continue in service
to God here in Masaka. Next term we will be teaching How To Study the Bible and Old
Testament Survey. We are looking forward to seeing three more students graduate after the
2011 school year. Towards the end of the month, I was able to travel by bus to Mbale to
preach a revival conference for the Mbale Independent Baptist Church, where my brother
Andrew is a missionary. He is currently on furlough but the national leadership there is doing a
great job and the revival was a success.
The first week of December we had Guardian Day at Grace Orphan Boarding School. It was
great to see the accomplishments of each of the 113 students, and we are grateful that the
guardians were able to hear the Gospel again. Please pray for the orphans as they are spending
the school break with their relatives. They will be returning to us January 10th.
As a family we were able to spend Christmas with my mom, dad, brother (and family), and
sister who are serving as missionaries in Mbarara. We had a blessed time with the family and
had some much needed R & R. What a joy it is to have our family serving in the same country
as us.
Please continue to earnestly uphold our radio station in your prayers. The power situation here
in Masaka seems to be getting worse, and we are in desperate need of a new battery backup
system. With fuel being $4.50 a gallon, it gets quite expensive running the station on generator.
We are praying that God will provide these batteries before we leave on furlough. As the
Gospel is broadcast, people continue to be saved, and visitors regularly attend our church.
We do our best to keep our website updated, so please feel free to browse it. Some new
pictures have been uploaded that I believe will be a blessing to you. The web site is www.
kstensaasfamily.com.
Lastly, please keep our upcoming furlough in your prayers. We will be flying back to the States
on March 11 and will begin hitting the road the last week of March. Pray for the transition as
we get everything turned over here to our national and missionary leadership, and as we begin
our temporary life on the road in the States. We look forward to having the Tony Applegate
family back with us in our Masaka team.
Thank you for your faithful support and prayers. May God richly bless you as we continue in
His work together!
Your Servant for Christ’s sake,
Keith L. Stensaas
