CHURCH PLANTING

Starting churches out of other churches is the natural, biblical way to continue the propagation of
Christianity and the church.  Since 1997 we have had the opportunity of starting eight churches,
six of which are still in existence.  Please pray for the following churches and their individual
specific needs.

MASAKA INDEPENDENT BAPTIST CHURCH
Pastor Keith L. Stensaas

This church was the original church we started in the town of Masaka in 1997.  Trained men
from this church have begun the other churches we have seen established. Please pray that God
will raise up a national pastor to take over this work, in order to free me to "circuit ride" our
church plants and continue teaching and training national leadership.

KALISIZO INDEPENDENT BAPTIST CHURCH

This church was
the first church started out of  Masaka Independent Baptist Church.  Please
pray for this church as it is looking for a full time pastor to lead this ministry.

KYOTERA INDEPENDENT BAPTIST CHURCH

This church, started by Missionary Jerrold Myers,  is n
ow the center of one of our Orphan
Boarding Sections with G.R.A.C.E. Project.
Currently we have 86 orphans at this site.  Please
pray for this church that the Lord will give them a full time pastor to lead this growing ministry.

MBIRA BAPTIST CHURCH
Brother J.J. Kalanzi

This church was started by J.J. Kalanzi, a recent graduate of Masaka Baptist College, in an area
where most of our orphans from the G.R.A.C.E. Project in Masaka come from.  After J.J. led
several of the orphan guardians to the Lord, God burdened his heart for the need of a church in
that area.  God is blessing in a wonderful way.  They have just finished putting up a temporary
structure on the property the Lord has given them.

WORD OF LIFE BAPTIST CHURCH
Brother James Sebyoto

Lukaya is a trucker town that has all the wickedness that goes with this sort of town.  Prostitution
and drugs are rampant.  It has been called the "graveyard of churches" because many are started
but few ever last.  It is into this town that the Lord led Brother Sebyoto to start a church.
Currently a student in Masaka Baptist College, Brother Sebyoto goes out each weekend to soul
win and to disciple his growing congregation.  Please pray for their need of property and a church
building.

MBIRIZI BAPTIST CHURCH
Brother Ssebanja Henry

This is our newest church plant.  The town of Mbirizi (which by the way means "ribs") is a
predominantly Muslim town that God has allowed Brother Henry to enter with the gospel of
Jesus Christ.  They just signed a two-year contract on a building that they will be renting in the
town until such time that God can give them property and a building to meet in of their own.  Pray
that this church will stay strong in the face of strong opposition to the gospel and that God will
give Brother Henry the wisdom and discernment that he needs to lead his people.
